POETRY OUT LOUD
Congratulations to Andre V who is our Ridgeland High School Poetry Out Loud Champion for 2013-2014. Andre will represent Ridgeland High School at the Regional Contest held on Wednesday, February 5th! Also, congratulations to Alex B our runner up in the competition, and special thanks to all of the students who participated and judges!

BROOKE WELCH SOCCER TOURNAMENT
Due to the weather forecast and the number of teams participating who will be traveling from the northern part of the state, the Brooke Welch Soccer Tournament has been rescheduled for December 20 & 21. Additional details will be posted as they are made available.
From the Administration: do NOT prop external doors open for any reason. The only exception is if your class is outside and you prop the door, make sure you remove the prop once you reenter the building.
Archery tryouts will be held Monday December 9th at Olde Towne's Gym Gym starting at 3:30 and goes till 5pm. You must have a ride to pick you up or leave in your vehicle at 5pm. Students who have their own equipment may bring it at that time.
FRENCH CLUB MEETING
The French Club Christmas meeting will be Friday December 13th at 7:50. Please research a special French Christmas food to bring.

EXAM CHECKOUT NOTES
Exam checkout notes were distributed Tuesday December 4th to students in their 6th block class. Checkout notes are due back in the attendance office no later than 3:29 pm on Monday December 9th. All checkout notes will be verified by phone and students with an average of 65 or below will be REQUIRED to attend class review.
BEAUTY & BEAU
Beauty and Beau sign up is now! Sign up in room 216. Deadline is Friday, December 13. The TITAN yearbook staff needs you to participate. It's fun. It's another way to get involved, and did we say it's fun? See Mrs. Williams with questions...
ANIMAL RESCUE FUND DRIVE
The Foreign Language Clubs will be taking donations for Cheshire Abbey until Friday December 13th. Cheshire Abbey tries to provide houses to owners of dogs who leave their dogs outside (and sometimes on chains) no matter how bad the weather gets. These houses at least give the animals a way to get out of the cold and rain and sometimes sleet. Any donation will be appreciated.

The Theater Club will be selling Chick-fil-a Chicken Sandwiches Thursday morning December 12th, as well as assorted other snacks. Come to the concession stand on Thursday morning and see what we have.
MADISON COUNTY JUNIOR AUXILIARY
The Jr. Auxiliary of Madison County is sponsoring an event called "The Glass Slipper" in which several local high school girls will be chosen to receive a free prom dress, shoes, and jewelry. If you are interested in signing up to be considered for this program, the applications are available in the Counselors Office and must be filled out and returned by Friday!!
TOYS FOR TOTS
FBLA and the Volunteer Club are sponsoring a toy drive for Toys for Tots now through Tuesday December 12. Bring toys to Ms Barnes room 130 or Mrs. Joe's room 218 or see a FBLA member or Volunteer Club member.
Ridgeland High School’s annual Blood Drive, sponsored by MS Blood Services and RHS Ambassadors, will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Gym. A free t-shirt will be given to all donors! To donate, one must be 16 years of age (with parental permission form) or older. I.D. is required at the time one gives blood. Sign ups to give blood will start Tuesday morning, December 3rd in the library media center from 7:50 a.m.-8:30 a.m. One can also sign up through an RHS Ambassador throughout the day. The blood drive is open to everyone: teachers, students, parents, or anyone in the community!
RHS Choral Activities will hold their Festival of Carols Concert on December 12, 2013 at 7PM in the RHS Auditorium.
There is no admission.
The concert will feature the RHS Concert Choir, Women’s Ensemble, and Men’s Chorus as well as a congregational sing-along of some classic Christmas carols.
In addition to the concert, RHS Choral Activities will also hold their Holiday Wreath Raffle drawing on the night of December 12. Raffle tickets are $1 and may be purchased at the door of the concert. You may also see a choir member or Ms. Upton to purchase a raffle ticket.
The Wreath that is to be raffled is covered with over $400 worth of gift cards from local businesses and organizations such as Biaggi’s, PF Chang’s, Amy Head Makeup, Barksdale Cadillac, Kinkade’s Fine Clothing, Pink Bombshell, Diva Dog, Majestic Burger, Newk’s, Barnes and Noble, Soulshine, Sephora, Krispy Kreme, Fusion Coffee House, Garden Works, and others!
The winner need not be present to win.
Please support RHS Choral Activities by purchasing a raffle ticket and attending the Festival of Carols on December 12, 2013 at 7PM in the RHS Auditorium.
JUNIOR MAGAZINE SALE
Attention Juniors: You have one more week to sell magazines. All orders and money are due by Tuesday, December 10. One change, please turn in all orders to Mrs. Tackitt in room 225. Checks must be made out to RHS. If you need more order forms, come to room 225 to pick them up. Remember if you choose not to participate in this fundraiser, your prom tickets will be $50 per ticket. If you participate, your ticket price will be reduced anywhere from $10 to $20 or could be free! See Mrs. Tackitt in room 225 if you have questions or need to pick up materials.
FREE MATH TUTORING
Are you having trouble solving your math problems? Let Mu Alpha Theta help. We offer free math tutoring on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings form 7:40 am to 8:10 am and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. We are located in room 225 and you must bring your book and notebook so you can show us what you are working on.

Messages are $10 (cash only), will be displayed for 24 hours and must be purchased by Thursday of the week prior to the message being displayed. TITAN CAR TAGS
Are you looking for a way to display your Titan Pride? Consider putting a Titan tag on your vehicle. For the additional cost of $31 you can advertise your pride everywhere you go! And better still, $24 will be contributed to the Titan Pride Booster Club. You may obtain your tag in one of two ways: when it is time to renew your tag, go in person to the Madison County Tax Collector's office and request a Titan Tag or you may go in person at a non-renewal time and ask to trade in your current tag for the Titan Tag upgrade for $31.
